HOW E-FIT WORKS
Based on a witness’s description of the suspect, E-FIT's 'intellisearch' tool first identifies likely feature matches by automatically sifting its carefully labelled feature databases.
The individual components of a face are then selected from extensive databases and their spatial configuration and tonal appearance is adjusted and blended using E-FIT’s array of tools.
E-FIT has over 20,000 carefully chosen features and accessories and is tremendously flexible. Operators may operate the ‘minimum face’ method in which the witness first configures the proportions of the face before assembling it feature by feature. Alternatively, a detailed description of features may be entered and E-FIT produces a first guess which is gradually refined by the witness and operator.
E-FIT is tremendously flexible and designed with witnesses and operators firmly in mind. It allows operators to exchange and load features very rapidly, to modify selected features ‘on the fly’, to import user-defined features and items, to create and remove paint layers using industry standard paint programs and much more.
E-FIT is even more effective when combined with the sound cognitive interview principles which are offered as part of our training program.
With a worldwide user base, a dedicated technical support service and an outstanding track record extending over 25 years, E-FIT is
a rock solid, tried-and-tested solution for constructing facial composites using the traditional feature-based approach.
